What is a Grid Connect Solar System?
Grid connected Solar Systems use solar power generated from PV Panels installed on the roof to power the home.
If additional power is required (than the solar system generates at that point in time) power is sourced directly from the power grid.
- Your home can draw electricity from the grid when insufficient electricity is being generated by the solar panels.
- Any electricity produced by the Solar System but not needed by your house at the time it is produced is simply fed into the mains grid, with a feed-in tariff paid to the system owner.
- Grid-connected systems have two main components, Solar panels on the roof, and a grid-interactive inverter, connecting into the household’s switchboard and electricity meter.
Solar for Homes Rebate - Reduce System & Installation Costs
Typical households can save up to $1,073 per year on electricity bills when they install solar panels.
NHC Solar is an Authorised Solar Provider under the Victorian State Government’s Solar for Homes Program. A rebate and interest free loan option is available for homeowners with existing homes, homes under construction and rental properties.
Rebate
Eligible homeowners can access a Rebate of up to $1,400 towards the installation cost of a Solar PV System.
Interest Free Loan
To further reduce the upfront cost of installing Solar, the Solar for Homes Program offers the option of a $1,400 interest free loan:
- For an amount equivalent to their rebate amount
- Required to be repaid over four years or can be repaid sooner in one lump sum.
The benefit of the interest free loan is that you can pay back loan using the significant savings achieved by reducing your power bills.
Eligibility Criteria
Victorian households are eligible to receive the rebate if they meet the following criteria:
- They are the owner of an existing property or of a home under construction.
- Owners have a combined household taxable income of less than $210,000 per year.
- The system must be purchased from an authorised solar provider, like NHC Solar, and products must be on the Solar for Homes approved products list.
